Captcha not appearing on my talk page?
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I'm trying to respond to a user on my MediaWiki talk page (not the one on the wiki I'm a moderator of, just the main Meta site), and there's an empty bar waiting for a "Captcha" result to post my reply, but said Captcha does not appear. I've disabled my Adblocker, and I've also tried in another browser. No changes.

Could you please link us to the page?

@Dissentrix So are you saying that you're unable to edit that page because of that?

You can reproduce this by using DiscussionTools on any wiki where you don't have skipcaptcha, it seems to be an issue with how CAPTCHA interacts with DiscussionTools.

Yes, indeed - when I hit "Reply" after writing the comment, it simply refreshes that CAPTCHA bar and does not post the reply.
EDIT: Well, actually it's concerning a "reply" to another user - editing the page simply refreshes the editing area, and it seems a CAPTCHA is supposed to appear, but never does.

So is this something I can fix on my end? Is there a way to disable these DiscussionTools?
EDIT2: Is this the small "Input Tools" keyboard-looking icon next to the CAPTCHA box? I've disabled it, but it doesn't seem to change the issue - neither replying, nor editing the page, work.

Is this still happening?

This has been an issue for a long time relating to DiscussionTools, and captcha V3 incompatibility, and I have not found any way to make it work. I can assume it still happens.

How come it's only happening for one user though? If it's only one user I'd recommend assigning skipcaptcha and closing this task

No, it seems the migration may have fixed it. I ended up answering the user on the specific wiki I'm moderating, but seems I can reply on Miraheze Meta now.

Sorry, no idea if I was allowed to "resolve" this. I undid what I just did.

If it's resolved of course you're allowed to resolve it :)

Also, the migration wouldn't be related as it's only related to images.

Well, no idea what that was then. Thanks.
