Extension request - NativeSvgHandler
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Extension request: NativeSvgHandler
Reason: Many of my SVG files on my Wiki are saved with a small resolution, and thus, it would be easier to just use the NativeSvgHandler than to manually change every single one of the SVG files.

I am the current maintainer of the NativeSvgHandler extension.
T1404 has been resolved since June 2021, may I request another review on the extension?

Should this be enabled as a global extension again, as it was before it was removed due to the mentioned issue?

Please, No, I wouldn't suggest that.

Well it was originally, so I'm just saying if we should go back on that. And I was asking SRE for the most part. I don't personally think we have to, but I wouldn't object to it either.

I don't see why not. It seems to have a clear benefit and little reason to object. Tagging Notice so we can get feedback from Agent.

Alternatively, NativeSvgHandler could be marked as incompatible with the Visual Editor. I'd be perfectly fine with giving up the latter for the earlier anyway.

It is compatible. The upstream bug was resolved.
